How To Have A Happy Marriage

Happy Anniversary Lynnette

Happy Anniversary Lynnette

We have been married for 27 years today, and here are some ideas that have helped us to weather the storms… and stay “In Love”.

It’s inevitable that a relationship will have some bad times. It’s usual for two people to start seeing each other as they are content with each other. Relationships will inevitable struggle at some point though in time. It’s not easy to make a relationship work sometimes, but with the right mindset you can succeed by looking at these 4 factors.

To say sorry is a key factor. Either yourself or your partner at some point will make a mistake. It could be something as small as being late when you say you will meet them somewhere.

Don’t let pride get in the way and say sorry if you need to. If it wasn’t you then hear what your partner has to say. If both you are willing to admit wrong doing if you were in the wrong, then there’s no reason why the relationship shouldn’t grow stronger and move on from a difficult situation.

You and your partner shouldn’t live in each others pockets and should do other things away from each other occasionally. Relax and spend some time with your friends. Not only will you feel a lot better, you will also appreciate your partner and talk to them when you see them next.

Be together when it comes to decisions. It is normal for every relationship to have a dominant force within it. This might be either the man or woman, but it is still critical to share in the process of making decisions.

It’s easy for things to get stale in a relationship if you have just one of you making all the decisions. Try to make things more exciting by changing predictable aspects of the relationship. Allow your partner to make choices if you have made the decisions one day. What you could also do is make it fun. Even if it seems stupid then that’s fine.

Motivate yourself and ensure your relationship works. It would be foolish to assume that relationships are easy. Both of you will argue on occasion with your partner. For some this is the signal to get out of a relationship.

But you can fight on and try to make things work. Don’t just call it a day with your relationship but work on things. Ensure that you make time to listen and hear what your partner has to say. Make sure you don’t lay blame with either of you and have an open talk and if you do this then you may be able to work out problems.

If you give up as soon as there are problems in a relationship then you will not likely be able to sort things out. Increasing a relationship’s length is fantastic for both parties. You can’t beat it when you know that you have someone to turn to when things get tough. If you follow these 4 tips then you will strengthen your relationship and improve things with your partner.

Best Wishes to You!

Rod

A Hearts Desire, A Dream

A Hearts Desire, A Dream.

Within each of us is a dream - a heart's desire.

A Hearts Desire, A Dream

Within each of us is a dream – a heart’s desire.

For some, it’s a professional or a career goal; for others, it’s a relationship or a family.  It might be a political or social desire, or it may be a religious or spiritual one.

Unfortunately, many people are not pursuing their heart’s desire.  Some are so far away from living their dream that they have forgotten what their dream truly is.

The good news is that with every dream comes the time and the ability to fulfill it.  The bad news?  Many people use that time and ability doing something else – something that often has little or nothing to do with their dream.

Why?  What’s keeping us from fulfilling our heart’s desire?  Why aren’t we living our dreams?

Our comfort zone.

Our comfort zone includes all the things we’ve done often enough to feel comfortable doing.  Any behavior outside our comfort zone can result in fear, guilt, unworthiness, hurt feelings, anger, and discouragement – you know: discomfort.

Alas, to accomplish something new requires new behavior, and new behavior by its very definition lies outside the confines of the comfort zone.

So, do we honor our comfort zone, or do we honor our dream?  The choice is ours.

As Woody Allen said, “Eighty percent of success is showing up.”

And J. Paul Getty agreed: “Rise early. Work late. Strike oil.”

I just read this book, and you should read it too!  Begin your journey back to your dreams.

The BIGGEST Transfer Of Wealth

Energy Deregulation

Energy Deregulation

THE  BIGGEST  TRANSFER  OF  WEALTH  IS  HAPPENING  NOW!

Secrets The Big Corporations Don’t Want You To Hear

Employees of corporate America are no longer valued as important resources; instead employees are just instruments of the company to be discarded on the slightest whim.

I have seen 25 year employees, with valuable skills, laid off because a new manager in the company decided he would make his mark and change things just to be making changes.   No consideration is given to the years and years of sacrifice these employees made in order to make the company what it is today.  The employee will be laid off yet the company will continue to make money off what that employee has done for them.  I have seen employees pour their heart into their jobs for years only to be rewarded by being asked to leave and then their jobs are given to someone in India, Mexico or some other foreign land.  Upon leaving they will have to take a job driving a school bus or working in a retail sales store because their skills are not widely marketable and are uniquely honed to what they’ve been doing at this company for the last 20 years.  These people are corporate slaves who live with fear that some new manager will come in and decide they are no longer needed.

We have decided that such practices are no longer tolerable.  We have decided to take control of our own future, to own what we have worked years and years to create and not to allow everything to be taken from us just because some unqualified person decides we should go.  We would like to share with you what we have discovered.  The future is very bright for those who are willing to step out and take advantage of what some have called THE BIGGEST TRANSFER OF WEALTH IN HISTORY!

This is perhaps the biggest opportunity that you will ever see in your lifetime.  This is not a gimmick, rather it is a legitimate business that you can do part time or full time from the comfort of your own home.  What are we talking about?

ENERGY  DEREGULATION

Financial guru Warren Buffett, who in 2008 was ranked by Forbes as the richest person in the world, has said that…

Energy deregulation will be that largest transfer of wealth in history.”

Would you like to be associated with the fastest growing company in history?

Positive Mental Attitude Scripturally three

Our Father, Our Boss

Our Father, Our Boss

Children need to grow up thinking they are valuable worthwhile and can accomplish anything that they desire to do, if they work hard and maintain a positive attitude.

C. Keep the goal in sight

Throw off everything that hinders
Internal and external Hindrances
The word for this is more accurately described as trapped SIN.
Sin destroys.  The bible says that the wages of sin is death.

Negativity

Break away from the traps that prevent progress

A survey asked mothers to keep track of how many times they made negative, compared with positive, comments to their children. They admitted that they criticized ten times for every time they said something favorable.
A three-year survey in one city’s schools found that the teachers were 75% negative. The study indicated that it takes four positive statements from a teacher to offset the effects of one negative statement to a child.

I’m not talking about discipline the bible is very clear that discipline is good. But there is a difference between positive and negative spirit stomping. Children need positive experiences to occur in their development. Children need to grow up thinking they are valuable worthwhile and can accomplish anything that they desire to do, if they work hard and maintain a positive attitude.

A negative spirit is a wet blanket on a warm fire.

So  “get away from what is holding you back.”

Positive Mental Attitude Scripturally two

Our Father, Our Boss

Our Father, Our Boss

Maintain a positive attitude

Maintaining a positive attitude is a key to success,
Your attitude is an inward feeling which is expressed by your behavior.

Parents are called to a meeting at their child’s class. The issue their 5th grade child is causing disturbances in the class and grades are low. The aptitude tests show that the child has the capabilities yet he is still failing miserably. The teacher suggests that the child has a bad attitude

We talk about attitudes every day. The truth is some of the greatest people in the world have had incredible attitudes, and some of the same people have had incredible deficiencies and handicaps as well.

So as a church we may have some wonderful tools but if we maintain a lousy attitude we will fail. On the other hand we may not have every tool we would like but if we nurture an attitude of winning, God is sure to bless the efforts.

We need to grasp this concept

“My attitude dictates my performance”

Lou Holtz head coach at SC said
“Ability is what you’re capable of doing.
Motivation determines what you do.
Attitude determines how well you do it”

John Maxwell recalls playing a high school basketball team that was not having a good season. One day the coach held a team meeting and said “fellows your abilities say win but your attitudes say lose.”

What does your attitude say?
A few weeks ago I stood up here and shared that I believed that if we would devote ourselves to prayer that this building could be contain over 100 people 2 more times by the end of this year.

How did you respond to that goal?
What is your attitude toward that goal?
Do you feel that it is a ridiculous goal? do you think it is reachable?
Have you allowed that idea to slip into the garbage bin of your mind or do you pray for it daily with a positive purpose in mind.

When you talk to people about the church do you describe the church as having some crazy idea or do you speak enthusiastically about what we are trying to accomplish?

Do you believe that a youth minister is a ridiculous idea and state that we only have a handful of youth. Or do you see endless possibilities for ministry, growth and outreach?

How good is your attitude about the worship time. Is it a wasted hour on Sunday morning or is it one of the most beneficial things you participate in every week? Is there someplace you would rather be or have you made a conscious commitment to be here every week?

What is your attitude about giving: The church will misuse my money or wouldn’t make the same financial decisions that I would? Or God is going to bless this church and allow his spirit to run freely through this place.

What is your attitude like around other people

What does your attitude reflect about your desire to serve and become involved in an area of ministry.

What does your attitude tell others about your Job

As Followers of Jesus our attitude needs to be the same as that of Jesus

So does your attitude say win or does it say lose?

Continually find the positive

There’s a story about a child psychologist who wanted to observe how different children respond to negative circumstances.
They got a room and filled it with horse manure. Putting the pessimistic child in there, they observed how he responded.
Predictably, he whined and cried, and despaired that he was in a room full of smelly manure.
They put the other child in there, and the little guy started tearing around the room, digging in the manure with an excitement that baffled the onlookers.
After a few moments of watching this, they asked him why he was so excited.
He replied, “With all this manure in the room, there’s got to be a pony in here somewhere!”

Being a follower of Jesus means finding opportunity in every situation.

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

Mike Ditka, New Orleans Saints football coach with a reputation for optimism, came into the locker room to give his team a pre-game pep talk.“All right Boys!” he said, “here we are, unbeaten, untied and unscored upon – and ready for the first game of the season.”

The anticipation was that now there are a bunch of people who want to see what you guys can do.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

I read about a schoolboy who brought home his report card. It was heavy with poor grades. “What have you to say about this?” asked his father. “One thing for sure,” the boy replied, “Dad, you can be proud. You know I haven’t been cheating!”

Find something to be excited about

1. Look ahead with positive purpose

A. Look forward
They once asked Barry Sanders, what is your goal when you run the ball. Barry said “Every time I run the ball I keep my eyes on the endzone If I ever look anywhere else I will fail.”

We need to look forward to where God has asked us to go.
If we look anywhere else we will fail

Lee de Forest, 1926, inventor of the cathode ray tube.
Theoretically, television may be feasible, but I consider it an impossibility–a development which we should waste little time dreaming about.

Thomas J. Watson, 1943, Chairman of the Board of IBM.
I think there is a world market for about five computers.

Recording company expert, 1962.
We don’t think the Beatles will do anything in their market. Guitar groups are on their way out.

All of these people were left behind because that had no vision for the future. The bible reminds us that “where there is no vision the people parish”

We must not forget the prosperous promises He has made or the Positive possibilities he has shown

Henry Kissinger, former Secretary of State, Jan. 9, 1989.
“More than at any time in history, mankind faces a crossroads–one path leading to despair and utter hopelessness, the other leading to total destruction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.”

Today in the life of this church more than any other time in history we are faces with a crossroads, one path leading to prosperity and another leading to a slow deterioration. Let us pray we have the wisdom to chose correctly.

Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.
Corrie Ten Boom a holocaust survivor.

So you may have set your clocks back but your eyes still need to look forward.

What do you see when you look forward?

Your Inner Peace

A Passion For Change

A Passion For Change

What will you choose to make out of your life.
“It is never to late to become the person you were meant to be”

We have choices in life. We can look for the lesson and beauty
in every single thing that happens to us. Or we can go through
life kicking and screaming about everything that has, is, could,
or will happen to us. Life is meant to be a journey, something
we learn from and grow from. It is meant to be a journey of
self discovery and joy, but you have to choose.

Two sisters growing up in the same house. Their mother
is an excellent seamstress and sews for many people in the
town. She also make all of the clothes her two daughters wear
which gives her great pride in dressing them in the latest
fashions at a fraction of the cost. The mother loves seeing her
daughters in her creations. Sewing for her daughters is an act
of love for the mother.

One sister loves the fact that her mother sews her such
beautiful clothes. She calls then her “designer” clothes. She
feels the love and care that goes into each new garment. She
feels so special putting on the new dresses and showing her friends .

The other sister hates the fact that her mother sews her
clothes. She feels others will think they can’t afford store
bought clothes. She hates being even slightly different than
her friends even though it means she has nicer clothes. She is
embarrassed and feels that if her mother really cared she would
buy her clothes from the store.

Two sisters living under the same roof, experiencing the exact
same circumstances in different ways. One has chosen to make
one meaning out of it and the other, a totally different
meaning.

We have choices too. How will we see things in our lives, our
businesses, relationships, our abundance or lack of it. What
are we willing to do to see the positive side of the coin. More
to the point, what are we willing to do to change how we see
things?

Scientist have been studying vibrational frequencies of negative
and positive emotions. There are instruments that can measure
these frequencies. When we hold a negative though for more than
17 seconds our energy vibration goes down, and when we hold a
positive thought for more than 17 seconds the vibration is at a
higher frequency.

Ever been around someone who was depressed and seeing the
negative? We all have. They can literally drain our energy if
we hang out with them. On the other hand, a positive person,
can lift our spirits just being in the room with them. Is it
any wonder that positive people attract good things and people
into their lives? And the negative people seem to attract every
negative thing to them. Every time you talk to them they have
another poor me story. It’s their choice and yours too. What
will you choose to make out of your life.

“It is never to late to become the person you were meant to be”

“You Must Become That Which You Want To Attract In Your Life.”

Have you ever wished that people would be kinder to each other?
That people would be more honest with each other? That people
did what they said they were going to do? That relationships
were deeper. That there really was such a thing as
unconditional love? That people would see you for who you
really are?

Anything that is important to you, must start with you first.
If you want kindness, you must be kinder to every person you
meet. In being kinder to others you will attract kindness to
yourself from others.

You must be honest in each encounter with others. This action
will attract more people into your life who are honest. Keep
your word to others and you will attract more people in your
life who will keep their word to you.

Offer the real you in relationships first, allowing yourself to
be transparent and deeply connected then others will be
transparent and deeply connected with you. Create a “safe place
for others” and there will be safe places for you.

If you long for unconditional love for yourself, give it to
others, it will find its way back to you.

If you long to have others see you for who you really are
inside, see others for who they really are inside: a unique,
one of a kind creation waiting to be seen for who they really
are. The spirit side of you and others (the “real”, Authentic,
God created side) is not self centered, needy, greedy, lacking,
fearful angry, bitter, or hurtful, but loving, giving, open,
kind, curious, abundant, prosperous, creative, intuitive,
playful, helpful, generous, joyful, and amazing. If you
start looking for those qualities in others and help them find
them in themselves, You will recognize all of that in
yourself.

Have you ever been at a dance and the music starts, but no one
wants to be the first out on the floor…………. But as soon as the
first couple takes that step onto the floor, others quickly
follow and soon many are dancing with them. Life is like
that. Be the first on the dance floor of life and soon there
will be many others dancing with you. You will find a community
of like minded spirits, who want to dance the dance of life with
you.

Life is really about our own journey to truth and wholeness. Our
choices and how we see things shape our world and attract
what we have in our life. So if you do not like what you have
in your life right now, begin today by being 100% responsible
for the rest of your life and re-create your life and what you
attract into it by being what you want others to be for youFeature Articles, the
rest will follow effortlessly.

What we are not getting in our lives is a reflection or a mirror
of what we are not being or giving out.

Be loving with yourself. Don’t judge what you do not like about
what you see reflected back to you in your life. Just notice it
and get clear on what you would like to be different. Then let
it start with you giving out what you want to see.
